How are international labour standards used?

International labour standards are agreed under democratic principles by representatives of governments, workers and employers of all the social and economic systems of the world

They are the global model for workplace rights and responsibilities. As such, it is the obligation of ILO member States to realize them as far as possible, and the mission of the ILO is to promote their realization.
