Regular System of Supervision The regular system of supervision is set up to oversee the application of ILO Conventions. Some 6,500 ratifications have been registered, resulting in nearly 1500 reports each year The diagramme below illustrates the system. Click on the icons and the links for a more detailed explanation.

 | The process begins with reports on ratified Conventions being due at the International Labour Office between 1 June and 1 September each year. |
Governments are obliged to send reports on ratified Conventions according to a periodic reporting schedule.  | The independent Committee of Experts reviews the reports and information received. |
The Committee may begin a dialogue with the government about application of the Convention.
