B. Review Comments

ISO 14001 was developed by ISO Technical Committee (TC) 207 and published in 1996. It is an environmental management system (EMS) that is included in this analysis because of its widespread use as a template for OHS management systems. Since the promulgation of this standard, many organization have been using ISO 14001 to integrate environmental, health and safety management systems. In 1995-96 there were discussion within TC 207 on whether to incorporate health and safety aspects into ISO 14001. This issue was subsequently considered by ISO, and rejected.
